Seminar Series Registration

Speakers are now needed for the 2006-2007 Postbaccalaureate IRTA Seminar Series!  This series allows technical and post-baccalaureate IRTAs to speak about their own research at a monthly forum with other IRTAs, to gain valuable scientific public speaking skills, and to learn about other areas of research. Presenters give Powerpoint presentations lasting about 20-25 minutes followed by a 5 minutes Q&A period. The content is on a level whereby IRTAs from different areas can get an sense of the presenter's research. Seminars are held in Building 50, Conference Room 1227/1233 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and generally take place on alternating Mondays and Wednesdays of each month. For more information, view the Seminar Series Registration page. You need to login to this website before you can view the Seminar Series Registration page.

Welcome to the Postbaccalaureate IRTA Committee Website
bldg1.jpgThe Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA), the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) Fellowships, and the Technical IRTA Program provide opportunities for recent college graduates to spend a year engaged in biomedical investigation at the National Institutes of Health. While in this program participants work side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research. During their tenure in the program, postbaccalaureate fellows are expected to initiate the application process for graduate or medical school. In addition to the main NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, there are selected off-campus locations in Baltimore and Frederick, Maryland; Research Triangle Park, North Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona; and Hamilton, Montana where students can pursue a research fellowship.

CLUB PCR List-serv is NIH's unofficial Yahoo email list for social and non-work related issues, exclusively for postbaccs. On this list-serv you can find a roomate or a place to live, sell or find listings for furniture and locate information about local concerts, postbacc sports and social interests.
